If your art sucks, then I can just throw away my pad and pencils now, because I'll never be near as good as you. I see all of these good artists saying their art sucks.. I just.. sit there.. in wonderment. Ari, you have the most amazing art I've ever seen in my life. I see you posting around FP with your cougar tag and just stare at it wanting to cry because I'll never be that good.

I think my art is good. When I finished Xela I ran around the house showing it to everyone, thinking it was the most amazing thing that I've ever drawn. Hearing you say your art is bad makes me feel like I have no artistic skill at all and should just throw away all my pencils now.

If you want to boost creativity, sit down with a pencil and sketch an animal without a ref. Make funny swirly markings and a silly pose. Trust me, no matter what it looks like, it's gonna be better than most of dA.

If your art sucked as you say, I wouldn't jump with excitement every time I see a new WIP post on FP, a new piece of art on here. I love it. I love your art. If you want a more creative spin try new styles. I normally stuck in my comfort zone with a cartoony style where I could freely add to features, etc. Now I'm sort of trying to come out of that and look at a more anatomically correct side and realized that -I- suck. XD I just need some work.

You could draw Ellie in some goofy poses. Just sketches. She's a good subject for you to really put your heart behind while you're reaching. She's something familiar in an unfamiliar zone.

Just doing some reaching could do so much. Your realism shows how good your anatomy is. Your IB entries shows different coloring styles and a few different drawing styles you've tried and it shows how appealing your art is to multiple eyes.

Your art definitely does not suck. But if you don't like the direction it's moving, change it! Does that mean quit realism? By all means, no. Take a break and work on other stuff. Maybe take a break from art.

Your art is AMAZING. You're pretty much my inspiration to be better at imitations, and everything else you make. There is plenty of creativity in your work, maybe just not the kind that strikes your personal fancy. I happen think you're one of the best and don't you go thinking any less of it!
